From an esoteric point of view your birth chart is a portrait of your soul's intention for this lifetime, the lessons to be learned, qualities to develop, problems to be resolved, service to be rendered. From that perspective, the choices one makes in one's daily life have reverberations that may last beyond even this lifetime.

This report is written to help you clarify your lessons and goals, illuminate your struggles, and encourage you to move in the direction of your true purposes.

The best to you on your journey...

Chapter 1: The Moon

The placement of the Moon in your birth chart is very significant from a karmic perspective, as it indicates the accumulated karmic tendencies, both positive and negative, that you carry from your past incarnated experiences on earth.

While the Sun reveals your intended purposes and lessons for this present life cycle, the MOON represents what you have already done and developed, hence, what is instinctive and natural to you, and what you tend to do over and over again. Your childhood is also reflected in the Moon's placement, as it is through those childhood circumstances that any unresolved past-life issues are re-stimulated. Your subconscious predisposition is indicated by the Moon's position. It is the psychic imprint of the past. The nodes of the Moon describe behavior patterns from the past, as well as delineating a direction out of outworn or overdone behaviors and habits.

Moon in Aquarius:

You have a deep-seated streak of unconventionality and an unwillingness to be bound by traditional stereotypes, rules, or authority imposed from outside yourself, so much so that you may feel conspicuously different or 'from another planet' when in the company of people who do not question or think for themselves. This is a carry over from past life experiences in which you were very much outside the mainstream of society - a rebel, renegade, or heretic challenging the standards of the day and the orthodox ways of doing things. Stubbornly independent and recalcitrant, you refused to bow down to the powers that be and you still refuse to do so, at least internally. You may find that you threaten your superiors, because subconsciously you send the message that you will not defer or submit to anyone. Deep within you feel that all people are spiritual equals; you despise being dominated or having your freedom impinged upon. You can cooperate quite comfortably on a team or in a circle of equals; it is hierarchy and paternalistic authority with which you have trouble.

You may find yourself discontented and emotionally unfulfilled in a conventional existence, and thus need to experiment with alternatives and create your own patterns in the realm of sexual partnerships, family relationships, work, or general lifestyle. Traditional gender roles do not work for you (especially if you are female). You need to feel that whatever you do or give is done freely, and you balk when expectations and demands are placed upon you, or other people's shoulds and shouldn'ts.

You may also have an inordinate need for personal space and freedom, so that you shy away from making binding commitments, or trading away your independence for security. (You are also apt to have peculiar tastes or quirky idiosyncrasies involving your diet or sleeping patterns or other domestic habits. In some basic way you 'dance to the beat of a different drummer'. This is fine, but it may require flexibility and understanding on the part of the people with whom you live).

On an emotional level, it is very hard for you to admit that you have needs, or that you need other people. Early in this life (and quite possibly stemming from past incarnations as well) you discovered it felt safer for you to detach yourself emotionally and to be self-sufficient. Your early nurturing may have been inconsistent, unreliable, or abruptly interrupted in some way, and an undertone of disruption, of being uprooted, of not knowing what to expect, may have permeated your earliest years. As a result, it may be difficult for you to stay emotionally connected to other people when you are feeling threatened. You may abruptly cut off contact and become rather distant, aloof and inaccessible when conflict or other uncomfortable emotions arise. You have learned to play it cool -often at the expense of your real emotions and needs. Also, you are essentially idealistic, forever trying to be fair, reasonable, and unselfish, and you will not allow yourself to express or even acknowledge that you feel possessive or hateful or any number of other very real, human emotions. If you succeed in burying those feelings, you will begin to act them out erratically and explosively when the internal pressure becomes too much.

In your deep subconscious memory, you may have little experience of stability or family in the traditional sense. You may become addicted to change and stimulation, having had to adapt to rapidly fluctuating circumstances and many different types of people and settings. Now, you may find that your closest emotional bonds are not based on blood, but on spiritual ties. At times you may even be curiously indifferent to family. How-ever, you do need a society, brotherhood or community to share your life journey, for you are really a 'people person' and get a lot of nourishment from group support.

North Node in Cancer:

In your incarnational past, your worldly ambitions, duties, or responsibilities took precedence over you. Discipline and rules were more important than emotion. Your growth direction now is to learn to trust, feel, and give and receive nourishment, care, support, and tenderness.

North Node in 10th house:

Your past tendency is so much a part of you, and is reinforced by your family, parents, or cultural tradition, so that it may be particularly tricky for you to even be aware of how compulsive it is. Your 'new attitude' or growth direction can be applied to your professional or vocational goals and to achieving something concrete, with great success.

Chapter 2: The Sun

The Sun in your birth chart represents the primary creative thrust for this lifetime, those qualities you are to develop (or further develop) and express, and your current life focus. This may be in harmony with your instincts and your emotional habits, or along completely different lines. The Sun represents your conscious identity in this lifetime.

Sun in Sagittarius:

Your path of soul development in this lifetime involves seeking and seeing the big picture, and your ability to intuitively perceive the interconnectedness of things in a larger pattern. You are driven from within to get an overview and to search for universal laws and principles, whether this is expressed as a compelling urge to travel and see the world, a keen interest in religion, philosophy, or other systems which purport to explain 'how it all fits together', or simply a restless urge to experience as much of life as you can, (in order to get as much of the whole picture as possible). This propensity to see things as a whole rather than focusing on the component parts, is one of your gifts. An example of this might be an interest in 'holistic' medicine, which acknowledges the interconnection of spirit, mind, and body, and treats the whole person rather than focusing on one diseased part of the anatomy. Or, perhaps, being able to see society as a whole, and thus what future directions or trends are likely. At the least, it enables you to keep a sense of perspective and a sense of humor when 'little things' go awry. Being innately attuned to a larger framework and feeling yourself to be a part of it gives you a sense of confidence, and faith that 'everything will be all right in the long run'. It also inclines you to take risks, to gamble, to try your luck, because instinctively you know that there is something larger than yourself buoying you up (whether or not you conceptualize it as life or God or something else). This gives you a certain leeway to play with life, to take chances.

At times, however, you can be so enamored of your abstract vision, your view of the whole, your intuitive sense of possibilities and potentials, that you miss what is right in front of you, including the actual work involved in realizing that vision, or perhaps the real people that might be effected. Your astuteness in the realm of understanding principles and having the broad view is sometimes matched by your ineptness and insensitivity when it comes to understanding and relating to individual people. You tend to invest much in your belief system, your convictions, your philosophy, and your ideals. Your challenge is practicing what you preach, doing something with your vision, and tempering your candor and truthfulness with compassion for people's limitations. You also need to guard against a certain laziness or sloppiness regarding details, taking the easy way, or depending too much on luck.

Your drive for enlarging your horizons and expanding your understanding of life is often accompanied by a great need for personal freedom and space, and a horror of being trapped, limited, fenced in, or confined in any way at all. There is something spirited and free and untamable in you, and for you to be happiest you must feel that there is some adventure in your life, opportunities to go places (literal or otherwise) that you have never gone before. The unknown, the untried, the yet-to-be explored beckons you, and being tethered to a routine or having to stay within certain known boundaries (budget, location, diet, curriculum, whatever) goes against your grain. You can discipline yourself, but discipline that is imposed is hard for you to accept. Though often times you seem to be 'luckier' than most people, self-discipline is a crucial key to your success, otherwise, you can easily get side-tracked from realizing your goals in life by all of the other interesting possibilities, and your curiosity about the road not taken. At your worst, you will procrastinate, and dream about all of the glorious things you will do in the future, and fanaticize about 'how wonderful it will be' without attempting to bring any of these dreams to fruition. Behind this is a fear that the 'real-thing' will not be as grand as the dream, and that your talent or potential is not as great as you imagine. However, you may well be a late bloomer in life. After having a wide variety of experiences and numerous adventures, you are more apt to settle down and give your all to a single meaningful pursuit. 'Meaning' is the key word here. Deep within, and whether or not you think of yourself in this way, your life is really about a quest for meaning and this is what fuels your restlessness and your curiosity. Discovering the meaning behind the lesson, the purpose and the opportunity for growth is ultimately your true focus in this lifetime and bringing that meaning into fuller expression in the world you share with others.

Sun SemiSquare Venus:

How to be true to yourself while also enjoying close personal relationships is a pointed issue for you in this lifetime. When you compromise or give up too much of yourself for the sake of making other people happy or keeping a relationship intact, a lot of internal friction is created and you feel increasingly empty or uncertain of your identity. At other times you may see-saw to the other extreme and expect others to totally support your creative efforts or to revolve their lives around your needs. Finding a balance between blending intimately and being authentically yourself is your challenge.

Sun SemiSquare Pluto:

In this lifetime you are apt to undergo a series of death-and-rebirth experiences, deep personal crises which force you to make radical alterations in your self or your life, and to dig deep within to find the resources to begin anew. You are attracted magnetically and karmically to the very people and situations which will compel you to confront your true motives, the stuff you are really made of, and those aspects of life we usually keep hidden away.

The development of the will, and the use/abuse of personal power, are key issues for you in this present life cycle. Early in your life you are apt to meet tyranny, domination and the excesses of another's personal power. The results of which are likely to be your deep resistance to being controlled and a rejection of authority. Your relationship with your father may be a particular focus for all of these issues (the early death or absence of your father may be crucial here also). While you may indeed have been a victim of another's abuse of power, you also need to recognize your own will-to-power, your drive for personal recognition and self-glorification. You tend to be intensely compulsive, and even ruthless when pursuing your own goals, not even realizing that you may be trampling over others' feelings or life-requirements. You are capable of going to extraordinary lengths to get what you want, perhaps on an entirely unconscious level. This trait is apt to create havoc in your relationships, until you become aware of it and make conscious efforts to change it. At your worst you can unconsciously assume that everyone in your life exists to promote your own objectives and, put bluntly, you tend to lack humility entirely until life brings you to your knees a few times.

Part of your life mission is to understand the taboo, hidden, or dark side. You may have a great fear of and fascination with death, with the 'have not's' or outlaws of society, with things that others may consider ugly, fearful, and unredeemable. Or it may be your own darkness and negativity that you must confront. Either way you will not be allowed to glide along on the surface of life.

To facilitate this process, certain gemstones may be helpful for you to wear or carry, including: amethyst, malachite, garnet, ruby, and green or watermelon tourmaline.

Sun conjunct Mercury in Sagittarius:

Physical coordination, manual dexterity and a great deal of innate intelligence, even brilliance, are your gifts.

You also have a way of communicating that is clear and lively and full of energy, so that others want to hear what you have to say. However, you may be so ego-involved with your ideas and opinions that you do not really take in, listen to, or perceive any other point of view. You may allow your rational mind to dominate your life-expression and find it difficult to relate to the world in any other way.

Chapter 3: Rising Sign

The point that was on the eastern horizon at the moment of your birth is called the ASCENDANT, or rising sign. While the Sun describes your conscious direction and current life focus, and the Moon your subconscious predisposition and past, the Ascendant indicates a way of being that transcends and embraces past, present, and future. It describes the way you engage and merge with the outer world and how you bring through into life the energies depicted by the Sun, the Moon, and the rest of your birth chart. Everything is filtered through the Ascendant from an esoteric point of view. It indicates your soul's function and thus a key part of your destiny.

Libra Rising:

Your soul function involves establishing balance, and harmony in your world, and an awareness of beauty, of relationship, of style, and how things fit or blend together. Reconciling opposites and finding 'the middle way' is your path, and the fine arts of compromise, negotiations and cooperation are key elements. You are the dove, the diplomat, the peacemaker, the friend; partnership and personal relations are your forte.

Libra Rising and Venus in Capricorn:

Your ruling planet, Venus, is in the objective and unemotional sign of Capricorn, suggesting that you seek new solutions and alternatives in order to create harmony and make the world a better place. A concern for social justice and social betterment are woven into your very fabric. You have an 'us' (rather than 'I') approach to life. Active involvement in your community, especially in conflict resolution and facilitating or coordinating groups of people to cooperate and help one another, is essential to fulfilling your soul function. The arts or entertainment may well be a key part of this, also.

Chapter 4: Saturn, Your Achilles Heel

Karmically considered, the placement of Saturn in your birth chart indicates where your energetic blockages, weaknesses and fears lie, and the areas of your life where the most concentrated effort and discipline will be required to master and overcome them. Yet it also points to the aspects of life which can become your greatest strength if you are willing to face your fears and difficulties honestly, and work with them patiently.

Saturn in Libra

Finding a balance in your life between participating in a close relationship, and attending to your own requirements and your own personal development, is a crucial issue for you in this lifetime, and not a particularly easy one. For you, relationships with people usually come at a rather steep cost, and they may seem more of a burden or more work than mutual pleasure. You may thus enter into personal relationships cautiously and reluctantly, or you may reserve some part of yourself and, in effect, refuse to be fully engaged. Expecting, at some level, to be disappointed, you opt not to invest yourself entirely, and then wonder why you do not feel fulfilled, why there is a vacuum. At other times, you may find yourself taking on much more than your fair share in your partnerships, and can even martyr yourself for the sake of a friendship, marriage or other cooperative endeavor. Because of the frustration and disappointment you experience in this realm of your life (or at least in certain key relationships), you will be thrown back on your own resources in order to truly become a whole person capable of relating to other individuals. What you seek from or through the other, you will have to find or develop from within.

Saturn in 1st house:

You tend to get tied up in knots when it comes to presenting yourself to the world, and it is frequently difficult for you to express yourself (the person you feel yourself to be inside) without a great deal of editing, censoring, or 'polishing the goods'. As a result you may seem rather stiff and self-controlled but even if you do not, even if you seem quite spontaneous and open, you are apt to feel a definite barrier between yourself and the outside world. In many ways you take yourself too seriously, particularly in your concern about how you come across, what impression you are making and how you impact others. Your orientation to life in general is apt to be serious, possibly too much so. You are very aware of your own flaws, and also of your duties and responsibilities. All of this can add up to a certain heaviness which you project onto life at times. The above description of your particular areas of difficulty or struggle are very much on the surface for you, others see them because you identify strongly with those very characteristics.

Chapter 5: The Hard Aspects

The following is a description of your MAJOR LIFE CHALLENGES, both in terms of energies you are to learn to develop and express in a positive way, and those which are the result of struggles and unresolved karmic issues which you have brought into this life.

Mercury Conjunct Uranus:

Your unusually inventive, creative, restless, and original mind can have both advantages and disadvantages. If you can balance or overcome tendencies toward extreme restlessness and going off on mental tangents, you have gifts of a creative genius, inspiration, and a direct awareness of truth which is apt to descend upon you like lightening, in terms of suddenly seeing the solution to some problem or grasping an idea without needing a methodical explanation. You simply have an intuitive 'knowing' about something. You can be a channel for new information and ideas. A certain rebelliousness and dislike of formality and 'tradition for tradition's sake' is an aspect of your mental patterning which may prevent you from taking advantage of the wisdom of the past. Often, you will 'reinvent the wheel', or make changes simply for the sake of change, not necessarily to improve upon the old but because in your mind 'new' or 'different' is superior to the past. Your mind is very future oriented and progressive but one way this manifests is in a kind of nervous, erratic, unsettled way of being which is always moving on, unable to be present or stay put.

Centering meditations and other techniques you find helpful to calm and stabilize you are necessary on a regular basis. Regular contact with the earth, through gardening or walking for instance, can be very helpful also. The development of a regular rhythm and routine, daily rituals which give continuity and a form of stability, are also enormously helpful.

Stones that promote feelings of peace and sooth the nerves include rose quartz and jade.

Others that may benefit or inspire you include clear quartz, larimar, and opals. Avoiding caffeine and other stimulants may be necessary too, at least from time to time.

Venus Square Pluto:

The realm of human love and human relating is not one you can enter into lightly or casually. For you it is always an all-or-nothing, whole-hearted, and ultimately transformative experience. Great joy and tremendous pain, betrayals, intense desire, and longings are part of your soul's path and pattern in this lifetime. A deepening of your heart and your capacity to love, as well as a purification of your values, is what this is all about. It may be the loss of one particular person in a particularly poignant and excruciating way, or a series of encounters which bring you ever deeper into your own attachments. Even abusive relationships may be the arenas in which this occurs. Ultimately, you are meant to discover the power of love to heal, to renew and resurrect your own and others' lives.

The darker side or temptation on this path is to use love (or attractiveness, and others' love for you) to control, manipulate, or force your will upon them. A love of power -instead of the power of love - would then be your downfall.

Mars Square Neptune:

Your masculine, yang, assertive energies combine (somewhat tensely and uneasily) with your urge for transcendence, grandeur, and a life beyond the every day or material. This could be expressed through you in various ways. At best you are an inspired creative genius with the drive and need to physically manifest your dreams and visions. (This may, nevertheless, be hard on those around you or the part of you that wants a normal, orderly existence, as you tend to become fanatical and to ignore the more mundane stuff).

You may have a great deal of fantasy about and infatuation with masculinity, male power, which can lead to feelings of personal inadequacy, sexual confusion, an overidentification with macho strengths and values, muscles, competition, or simply an unclear relationship with men. You may idealize the man (father, husband, son) and fail to perceive them accurately. You tend to go to extremes, either denying all male attributes, functions or values, or secretly worshipping them.

You may also have great aspirations and far reaching ambitions which may or may not be practically realizable. However, for you, to live is to dream. Strive for complete honesty, with yourself as well as others, because the downside of this pattern is a tendency to evade or deceive or simply ignore what is. Also avoid the tendency to use either your physical strength or your sexual power and charisma in an exaggerated way. Misdirection of these energies can weaken your vitality considerably.

Ultimately you may be led to devote your strength and all your actions to something that transcends personal gratification and personal desire, becoming a channel for a higher power to work through.

Chapter 6: Soft Aspects

The following is a description of your GIFTS and STRENGTHS which can help you work with your major life challenges. These are abilities and qualities of heart, mind, and soul which are quite natural to you. You probably take them for granted. Because these represent the lines of least resistance for you, you may rely too much upon them at times; hence, there are some cautions suggested. Still, these are the areas where good flows into your life and/or where you have considerable inner resources.

Sun Sextile Moon:

Your conscious aims, intentions and desires are in harmony with your deeper, mostly unconscious attitudes and needs, and thus you are able to move toward your goals in life without a lot of internal conflict. You are also likely to get a lot of support from your family, particularly female relatives, as well as from women in general, many of whom share a spiritual bond with you from previous incarnational experiences. In many ways you are reaping the fruits of the goodwill you have generated in the past. Though you, like all of us, are apt to go through times of discord and stress, you are able to re-establish your inner psychological balance and harmony in your life rather quickly.

Venus Trine Mars:

Actively creating harmony and beauty through your work, art, or with people is part of what you are here to do. You have developed a harmonious coordination between the masculine and feminine energies within yourself; thus, you combine strength with grace, power with elegance, decisiveness and effort with pleasure, passion with tenderness and sensitivity. You have a romantic soul.

Some positive expressions of this pattern might include athletic activities that have an aesthetic appeal, such as figure skating, or artistic endeavors that are active, such as performing dance or opera singing.

Actively bringing people together in some way, for mutual pleasure and benefits, is also one of your gifts.

Neptune Sextile Pluto:

Collectively, this is a time in history that enables you and those of your generation to advance spiritually through a heightened awareness of the invisible and intangible realms. A rebirth of spirituality through direct contact with higher forces is occurring in this generation. This contact takes many, many forms, including a compelling interest in life beyond death. You may or may not have a personal involvement with this, as it is a group karma rather than a primarily personal one.
