To own a Mac is to love a Mac. Everyone I know who has owned one will accept no substitutes. There are two vendors selling Mac Western Astrology software – Time Cycles and AstroGraph.

Time Cycles, the maker of Io Edition, has been around longer, has a broader product line and is the only vendor that develops astrology software exclusively for Mac computers. Io Edition has the most features and is the most popular among professional astrologers who own Macintosh computers.

AstroGraph, the maker of TimePassages, has three versions of their program – Basic Edition, Standard Edition and Advanced Edition.

The Basic Edition and the Standard Edition are wonderful for people who are just learning astrology. Both have all the basic astrological calculations that will keep you learning for years. The Standard Edition has two features that make learning astrology much easier and more fun:

1. You can click on any planet or aspect line to get an immediate interpretation. Instead of scratching your head when you don’t understand something in the chart – just click on it.
2. It comes with built-in Natal and Forecast report writers. Printing out reports about you and your friends is a great way to learn more about how the astrological symbols interrelate to tell a story.

The Advanced Edition adds bi-wheel, composite, relocation lunar and solar returns.
